Joya Cycle Teacher Training
Take your love of cycle to the next level and become a NASM/AFAA certified Joya Cycle instructor. This training is designed to give you the skills, confidence, and tools to lead safe, engaging, and inclusive rides for a wide range of fitness levels.
What You’ll Learn
During training, you’ll learn the foundations of the Joya Cycle experience, including:
- Proper bike setup, positioning, technique, and safety
- Modifications to support riders of different fitness and experience levels
- How to structure and build an engaging, well-rounded cycle ride
- The differences between strength, interval, power, and combination cycle formats
- Music selection, BPM, rhythm, and riding to the beat
- Effective cueing, coaching, and motivational techniques
- How to incorporate movement and create a mind-body connection on the bike
- How to create energy, connection, and an inclusive experience for every rider
Training Details
- Training Manual: You’ll receive a Joya Cycle Teacher Training manual to keep as a resource after training.
- On + Off the Bike: Training includes both classroom learning and on-bike instruction, so come ready to move and ride!
- Music Prep: Please download Spotify and the BPM Tap app before training. An active Spotify Premium account is required.
- Teaching Practice: You’ll prepare and teach 3 songs of your choice during training.
- Shadowing: Following training, you’ll have 60 days to shadow additional Joya Cycle instructors and provide feedback from each ride.
- Community Ride: You’ll complete a 45-minute community ride to showcase your skills and receive feedback.

Nicole has been teaching cycle since 2014 and is certified through Schwinn Cycle. She loves to teach a community-based workout that focuses on fun and pushing one's limits. Nicole likes to inspire others through her own hard work, and she enjoys mountain biking, being adventurous, and cooking in her spare time.
